THE LADY BEHIND LAWABANA
Datin Seri Norazlina Awang Had graduated from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with a Diploma in Graphic Design, after which she studied at the Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. She began her career as a freelance graphic designer and later worked as an art director in various design and advertising agencies. Her early career path is clear indication that her childhood interest in the visual arts was sustained into her adulthood. Her achievements also underscore her skill and expertise in design, colour and motifs.
When the broadcasting bug bit the vivacious and charismatic young woman, she joined ntv7, a major Malaysian TV broadcasting channel. There she built a solid reputation in broadcast journalism as a well-respected news anchor and program host. Datin Seri Norazlina was with ntv7 for a decade as the prime time news anchor as well as the on-air presentation manager. She also provided training and supervision to TV presenters and news anchors. With her skills as presenter and voice-over talent, she was also in high demand as TV host, moderator and professional emcee at large.
Datin Seri Norazlina’s education, career, community service experience, and natural leadership skills, all present a logical trajectory to Lawabana, which is her brainchild and ongoing passion. She is committed to growing the company by nurturing and assisting the artisans currently under its wing, and also to
select more artisans from other areas in the region. In tandem with this, she realises that achieving the right product mix for Lawabana as well as developing new product design and marketing modules to meet customers’ demands are also key to the company’s success.
